Every year there are thousands of art competitions worldwide in which artists of the various media can showcase their works in the hopes of being discovered by a prestigious art collector, or even winning a cash prize. For the new artist with little experience, looking through pages of "call to artist" prospectuses, contest rules, and competition requirements can be quite daunting.
I'm continuing my series of drawings, a couple of which are pictured here. The drawing at the top is still very much a work-in-progress, with just a little more black and white detail added at this point.
I'm enjoying this little series very much, and I can't wait to have some of these listed for sale.
I also have other ideas for drawings, including ACEOs, as well as paintings that I'm itching to get started on.
But... only so many hours in a day, right?
I am a self-taught artist, using my creative and sometimes bizarre mind to come up with colors, shapes and scenes and transferring them from my my mind to a canvas or piece of paper. I love to experiment with different styles, colors, media and shapes in my artwork, so you might find me listing acrylics one week, watercolor the next, and then a mixed media collage after that. I create art because I love it - it makes me happy. I'm here to share that enjoyment with others.
